The Zehen Way

There is a “Zehen Way” to streamline any process in your life.

Let’s take a real-world example: filing GST in India. It's a tedious task. It involves two filings a month and constant back-and-forth with my Chartered Accountant (CA).

At Zehen , we believe the Google suite of products makes an excellent source of personal truth. Many of our "ZSteps" are simply smart automations that operate on your Google Drive and Google Sheets.

Here is how we automated my GST filings in two simple steps.

Step 1: Download Invoices.

First, I manually download all my tax invoices from my admin consoles, like AWS. I keep this step manual (Zehen has browser automation zsteps too). It forces me to be aware of my expenses.

Step 2: Run a ZStep.

Next, I run a single Zehen ZStep from my phone. This script does two things automatically:
1. It copies all the downloaded invoice files to a shared folder in Google Drive.
2. For each file, it gets the shareable link and adds it to an "index" spreadsheet.

This shared folder is my source of truth. My CA and his team have real-time access. We are literally on the same page, all the time, without needing any fancy, task-specific UI.

The essential "work" of this automation was imagining and designing the format of the index sheet. That's the most critical part—it's like designing the schema for a mini-product. Once that was nailed down, writing the Python script to execute the task was a simple AI prompt.

It doesn't end there. Zehen has connectors that can link any script to its simple UI. You can invoke it from anyhere in the world and even make it voice-mantra-activated if you so desire. This makes the automation truly integrated and ossified in your life.
